June Greetings from Your "God Is Still Speaking Youth Ministry

Summer has finally arrived, and we couldn’t be more ready and excited!

This month we’re kicking off our Summer YA Teen Book Club for youth who will be entering 6th-12th grade in the Fall!  Don’t worry, this is nothing like school – after all, it is SUMMER😊

We’re looking forward to lots of fun, fellowship, food (aka snacks) and great discussion of the award-winning Young Adult fiction that we’ve picked just for our Pilgrim youth & friends.

We will meet every other Tuesday evening, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Oak Park Public Library - Main Branch, from June 19th – August 14th.  In total we’ll read and discuss five books, and we hope that you’ll be able to join us for all 5 sessions.  But if you can only make a few, that’s cool too.  Just let us know in advance so that we can plan appropriately.

Here's some information about our first book - "Don't Get Caught" by Kurt Dinan

Max Cobb flies under the radar—until a prank sets him and several classmates up to take the fall for the high school's legendary Chaos Club. In a quest to prove he's more than ordinary, Max, with his motley crew, decides to take down the club and the school's disliked disciplinarian. But when their slippery slope of vengeance and insensitive pranking enters illegal territory with little to no thought of the consequences, Max is forced to consider that his crew might be worse than their perceived rivals.

Hope you can join us on June 19th.  Click here to sign up so we know you're coming.  And then head to the Oak Park Public Library to pick up the book - it's there now.  Just tell them you're with the Pilgrim Young Adult Book Club and they'll have a copy ready for you!
