The Angle of Doing
Patience, integrity, honesty, prayerfulness—the writer of James upholds these qualities as essential practices that foster safe and nurturing community. Building on his concern about oppression and endorsement of profound hope, James shows us that when we think and behave in a grounded concern for one another, we set aside harmful attitudes and habits that foster inequities and injustice. We can have all the faith in the world, but if it doesn’t bear witness in our actions, it’s no good. We’ll return to our regular in-person study this week with a closer look at “faith without works is dead.”
We meet at 7:30.
