Adult Education Class - Beyond Parades and Rainbows: A Queer Theology Primer

Queer theology first emerged as a form of resistance to confront homophobic and gender-based injustices common among biblical literalists and religious conservatives. With close ties to many modern Christian thought streams, queer theology reclaims LGBTQ-affirming texts and doctrines to ratify the self-worth of same-gender-loving and non-gender-conforming people. When done well, it demonstrates there’s a lot more to Christianity than the infamous “clobber texts” that have been abused to condemn queer folk for centuries.

Pastor Tim Wolfe will lead our consideration of this fascinating topic.
